So… who the hell are we anyways?
Big Ape is an independent record label based out of Austin, Texas. Big Ape Records isn’t a mega label that has hundreds of employees slaving away to cram the latest music fad down everyone’s throat. Instead, we are a small time operation that conducts business with a “hands on” approach. It’s simple, we believe that if there is good rock n’ roll out there, it needs to be heard. As a result, Big Ape Records has made a commitment to helping independent bands get their music out to all those across the globe. We work closely with our artists (many of whom are friends) and eschew the current attitudes and reputation of the music industry to provide a fair and honest environment in which the artists are treated with the utmost respect, because Big Ape Records realizes that there is more to music than just money in everyone’s pocket. So, we invite you to stop on in, check out the music and send us a Texas sized “hello”.
Album Release Date -
Black Earth's album will be released on March 18th. It will be distributed by Koch/Fontana North/Bertus.
SXSW 2008 Trade Show -
Big Ape Records will be participating at SXSW 2008. Come say hello to our rep at the Indie Village booth at the Austin Convention Center on any of the following days : Thursday March 13th (1-2 PM), Friday March 14th (1-2 PM) and Saturday March 15th (2-3 Pm). Big Ape Records recording artist Black Earth will be performing their SXSW 2008 showcase at Emo's Annex on the corner of Red River and 6th Street on Friday March 14th, come out and see us there as well.
